Fabrication and Characterization of Dye Sensitized Solar Cells based on Stainless Steel Photoanode

Cost reduction of materials and methods used in the manufacturing of dye sensitized solar cells and shift from batch processing to roll-to-roll manufacturing are the main issues which make the use of flexible substrate necessary. In this work, we have used Stainless Steel type 304 (StSt304) sheets as substrate of DSSCs by using photovoltaic parameters J-V curve of these cell comparing to that one with FTO rigid glass photoanode were obtained. The current density and open circuit voltage of this cell have measured respectively 9.61 mA/cm2 and 0.65 V and the efficiency of 3.01% have been obtained. The result shows great potential of these photoanodes.
