In this paper, the chiral components of the Casimir-Polder potential of an atomic system in the presence of a dielectric sphere is investigated. It is shown that the chirality of the atom does not contribute to its interaction with a dielectric sphere. This, in turn, implies that the van der Waals interaction between two atoms is not affected by the chirality of one of them with the other one being achiral.
