Effect of Nano Silver on the Line-width of dye laser

In this work, the effect of adding nano silver in the active medium of a Rhodamine 6G dye laser pumped by Nd:YAG laser on the laser line-width has been investigated. Using fabry-perot fringe method, the laser line-width was measured when pure Rhodamine 6G used as active medium. Then after adding nano silver with radius 8 nm and concentration about 3.26×1013 atoms per cm3 measurements was repeated. Based on the experimental results, the line-width is decreased when nano silver was added to active medium.
