Abstract: (524 Views)
In this paper, two fabry-perot point optical fiber sensor are introduced to investigate the pressure of oxygen and nitrogen gas in the pressure range of 10 to 50 mbar. Fabry-Perot sensor probes are made with air cavity and with fixed lengths of 0.1 mm and suitable diaphragm with fixed thicknesses of 300 μm is layered on the optical fiber. Polyurethane (PU) and rigid polymer (Rigid PVC) materials were used for the sensor address layer and a sensor arrangement for measuring gas pressure was set up in the laboratory. The effect of polymer material as an important parameter on the sensitivity of gas pressure sensor was investigated. The results show that the sensor made with Rigid PVC coating is more sensitive than the sensor made with PU coating for both gases.
