In this paper, the thermal effects of laser pulsed energy absorption after interaction with an epoxy-carbon composite are investigated. The absorption of laser energy increases the temperature by the Gaussian distribution and shocks the composite due to the applying the laser pulse in a short period of time; The stress effects of the composite are obtained after laser pulse irradiation and its distribution on the sample surface indicates that significant pressure is applied to the sample, which is radially expanded. In the deep direction, by calculating the maximum stress, it is shown that with decreasing laser energy absorption, the effects of straw stress are reduced.
