Abstract: (929 Views)
Psoriasis and Eczema are two chronic inflammatory skin disorders. In this experiment, optical properties of these illnesses have been reported. Skin samples of ten patients were cut by microtome and prepared in a standard method. Subsequently, optical properties of samples were investigated using z-scan and linear absorbance setups. The results showed that the range of changes of linear absorbtion for psoriasis and eczema have overlapps in up to 76% of cases but their signs of refractive index are totally different and both are in order of 10-8. Therefore, measuring the optical characteristics can be applied in discrimination between these two skin illnesses.
