Abstract: (1745 Views)
Measurement of phase variation profile in phase objects is of great importance in optics, fluids, and biology. The incoherent self-imaging phenomenon is based on diffraction of light which is very sensitive to variations in the optical path length, so that the self-image may be affected by phase variations due to the presence of a phase object inserted in the image path. In this work the results for the measurement of 2D phase profiles of phase objects using the combination of the incoherent self-imaging and the Moiré phenomena are presented. High phase sensitivity, resilience against unwanted disturbances, being a non-destructive and whole-field technique are the advantages of the proposed technique compared with other similar methods.
