In this paper, we propose a 1D nonlinear coupled disordered waveguide array in which the linear part of waveguide refractive indices are random numbers selecting from a Lévy-type distribution with exponent &alpha. Here, the effects of nonlinearity and changing exponent &alpha of Lévy-type distribution on the transverse localization are investigated. It is shown that the quality of transverse localization is improved by decreasing the exponent &alpha. Furthermore, the self focusing nonlinearity leads to the localization improvement while the defocusing nonlinearity causes the localization to degrade. Therefore, to increase localization, using both the lower exponent &alpha and self focusing nonlinearity is suggested.
