measurement of gain coefficient and resonator losses for diode side pumped Nd:YAG laser

In this paper the loss and the small-signal gain coefficient of diode side pumped Nd:YAG laser with for 3-fold and 5-fold pumping modules are calculated and measured. The loss for 3-fold and 5-fold pumping modules with 5mm diameter laser rod were measured 0.14 and 0.12 respectively, and the small-signal gain coefficient of 70% transmission output coupler were measured 0.05cm-1 and 0.047cm-1for these modules, respectively. Also the loss and small-signal gain coefficient of a 5-fold pumping module for a 6mm diameter laser rod were measured 0.1 and 0.045cm-1, respectively.
