In this paper, the fabrication of directional coupler based on SU-8 polymer material is investigated. In order to find the optimal parameters of directional coupler, Optiwave software, which is simulation software, is used. Direct laser mapping lithography method is used to fabricate directional coupler. The directional coupler consists of two identical waveguides, which are close to each other. Energy can be transferred between two waveguides due to the coupling of evanescent fields, which are propagating in each waveguide. In this paper, the light coupling between two waveguides is also studied. The directional coupler is used as optical filters, intensity modulators and optical switches
