Designing optical filter using localized defect in 2D photonic crystal

In this paper we proposed a different methods for designing all optical photonic crystal based filters. In this structure which is composed of a square lattice of dielectric rods in air medium the wavelength selecting mechanism is based on a defective cavity. High transmission efficiency is the most significant property of the proposed filters.
