Abstract: (1728 Views)
Different submicron structures are appeared on the surface of the material following laser irradiation below the ablation threshold. These structures affect material properties for desired applications. On the other hands, the size and the shape of these structures depend on material properties and irradiation parameters. Here, the changes in the surface morphology of a polyethersulphone membrane following KrF laser irradiation below the ablation threshold and with different number of pulses and repetition rates are investigated. The effect of these structures on polymer hydrophilicity, which is an important parameter for medical applications, was also investigated.
