Atomic magnetometers have attracted a lot of attention in high resolution measurements such as microscopic imaging. In these imaging techniques, high spatial resolution and also high sensitivity are required. In this paper, we have proposed a method to increase the spatial resolution of a high sensitivity atomic magnetometer based on utilizing the magnetic flux concentrators which are made of soft magnetic materials with high magnetic permeability. For this purpose, using finite element analysis software, the efficiency of concentrator-magnetometer on the spatial resolution and sensitivity has been investigated. Our results show that utilizing sharp tip magnetic flux concentrator, which is made of soft magnetic material with high permeability, can enhance the spatial resolution to microscopic dimensions.
