Optical properties investigation of Eu-doped CaF2 ceramics

The synthesis of CaF2 doped with Eu3+ nanocrystals has been done by solid state interaction. XRD analysis of powder and ceramic samples showed that these ceramics has cubical structure and average grain size of the nanopowder particles is 40 nm. SEM spectrum of nanopowders showed that the morphology of them is approximately spherical. CaF2:Eu3+ ceramics were fabricated by spark plasma sintering (SPS) method at different P-T conditions. Related density of the ceramics and average grain size also has been investigated. In this paper it is tried to show the amount of light emitted in UV to IR region.
