Simulation of Electro-Optic Q-switch in a Diode Pumped Er+3: Yb+3:Glass Laser

In this paper, electro-optic Q-switching in an Er:Yb:Glass laser is simulated. For this purpose, the photon number in the cavity and level populations are calculated using numerical solution of time dependent rate Equations. Then, the laser output power is obtained using proper transmission function of the electro-optic crystal. The results show that pulse Energy 10 µj, peak power 576 W and pulse duration 17ns can be achievd
