Propagation of infrared laser beam at 𝛌=1.550𝛍m in a compact triple coupled quantum wells nanostructure

Based on InGaAs/InP triple coupled quantum well heterostructure an optical switch is suggested. the effect of tunneling on the absorption and the dispersion is discussed. We show that the group velocity of a light pulse can be controlled from superluminal to subluminal (or vice versa) just by controlling tunneling between quantum wells and an incoherent pumping field.
