Horn antennas provide proper impedance matching between the waveguide and free-space, because of the gradual increase in the physical aperture and hence, a suitable reflection coefficient (S11) is obtained. In this paper, a new structure based on the horn antenna at the wavelength of 1550nm has been proposed and investigated to increase the half-power beamwidth (HPBW). In our proposed plasmonic horn nanoantenna, we have used the leaky wave structure in the horn walls to increase the HPBW. Moreover, the magnitude of S11 parameter is improved due to the gradual increase of aperture dimension. The loss of this nanoantenna has been reduced due to lower metal usage in the structure. The plasmonic horn nanoantenna can be used in some applications such as photovoltaic and solar cells.
