Abstract: (4352 Views)
One of the important features of photonic crystals is the light localization. However, the localization is in the order of half wavelength Due to the diffraction-limited-based mechanism in photonic bandgap formation. In this paper, the possibility of sub-wavelength confinement of light in a photonic crystal waveguide is examined by ionic materials elements. It is shown that light can be confined in an area smaller than one Two-hundredth of the square wavelength of the waveguide modal field.
