Abstract: (5684 Views)
In this paper, the gain spectrum and the saturation behavior of fiber optical parametric amplifiers (FOPAs) are investigated by taking into account the fourth-order dispersion coefficient . Simulation results obtained by solving coupled amplitude equations including the fiber loss، show that it is necessary to consider in the equations when difference between the signal and pump wavelengths is large. Also, with increasing the value of , the gain is increased and the saturation power is decreased. Furthermore, it is shown that when the pump wavelength approaches to the zero-dispersion wavelength of the fiber, the bandwidth of the FOPA becomes much wider.
