Abstract: (5606 Views)
In this paperdetrimental effects of Amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) on Yb:YAGthin disk lasers output power are investigated. Besides solving rate equations utilizing finite element method,a temporal-spatial simulationbased on ray-tracing method is impliedfor calculating laser dynamic and ASE respectively.Present model is applied to estimating ASEin both transient and stable state conditionsin competition with stimulated emission. In order to scaling the thin disk laser for higher output power, we investigate the influence of physical parameters of our system onthe amount of ASE.
Keywords: amplified spontaneous emission, population inversion, ray-tracing method, rate equation, thin-disk laser
