Abstract: (633 Views)
The MoS2 monolayer was successfully synthesized, and 2H-MoS2 dominant phase formation and exfoliation were confirmed using XRD, FTIR and FESEM analyzes. The peaks observed in the UV-vis spectrum are related to the A and B excitons, and a shift in the absorption peak towards lower energies is detected in the monolayer sample due to quantum confinements. The band structure of the samples is calculated using the density functional theory and it is found that the energy gap changes from the indirect state for the bulk sample to the direct state for the monolayer sample.
