In this paper, a high-sensitivity surface plasmon resonance (SPP) based sensor is analyzed and simulated by the finite difference time domain method. The sensor is based on a metal/dielectric/metal waveguide and an H-shaped resonator. In recent years, the need to analyze various chemical and physical parameters using photonic sensors has increased. Because this sensor is based on SPP, there is a very strong interaction between the input electromagnetic wave and the metal, which leads to high sensitivity. The sensitivity of this structure is 1910 nm / RIU with an FWHM of 165 nm at a wavelength of 2950 nm. The sensitivity obtained in this article is competitive with other previously published articles. This structure can be used to detect different biological materials
