Abstract: (6557 Views)
In this work, polycarbonate membranes with 100 nm pore size were exposed by 193 nm ArF excimer laser, at 1 Hz pulse repetition rate with 60 mJ/pulse energy at 2- 20 pulses. Characterization and analysis techniques viz. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) with roughness analysis, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR), Water Flux measurement was performed. According to the results, the laser irradiation without changing the chemical bonds has modified membrane surface properties.
