Abstract:   (669 Views)
High-quality colloidal In2O3 nanocrystals were synthesized by the sol-gel method. Glycine was used as a surfactant to control the optical properties of the prepared sample. Structural analysis and optical spectroscopy were employed to identify colloidal In2O3 nanocrystals.  The optical properties of the colloidal In2O3 nanocrystals were evaluated using UV visible absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy which showed that there are two absorption peaks located around 303 and 250 nm. The colloidal In2O3 nanocrystals emitted white light. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy was also used to identify the chemical composition of the prepared Sol.  Experimental results have shown that highly stable nanocrystals colloidal nanocrystals have been synthesized with strong white emissions that have sufficient potential for photonic applications such as light-emitting diodes.
