Abstract: (541 Views)
In this paper, the nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear absorption coefficient of silver nanoparticles synthesized by the chemical reduction method are measured using the z-scan technique. The experiment was performed using Nd:YAG laser at a wavelength of 1064 nm. The synthesized nanoparticles have been identified and characterized using X-ray diffraction and absorption spectroscopy. The values of the nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear absorption coefficient at this wavelength are obtained from the order of 10^(-8)(cm^2/w) and 10^(-4)(cm/w) , respectively.
Keywords: Z-scan technique, nonlinear absorption coefficient, nonlinear refractive index, silver nanoparticles
