In this work we report on negative corona in wire-rode configuration using Schlieren photography technique. In order to record a reliable picture of the negative corona discharge, we have to use a higher zoom, therefore the Z-type system of the Schlieren was used. The results showed that the negative corona led to formation of current streams along the wire while they move versus time. The time evolutions of the corona revealed that the spacing between the current streams was almost unchanged although they had movement on the wire. Simulation of the negative corona in wire-rode structure by COMSOL MULTYPHYSICS 14, demonstrated the current streams in two dimension. The propulsion body force and its direction were evaluated by the simulation, too.
