Abstract: (1441 Views)
In this paper, we have investigated the detection of the water pollution contaminated with nitrate ion. Considering the important role of nitrate detection in saline and sweet water as well as its direct effect on people's health particularly children, we have mounted a highly-resolved surface plasmon resonance setup using a two-dimensional plasmonic nano grating. For this purpose, the lowest, allowable quantity of nitrate (i.e. 10 ppm) was recorded using the phase-sensitive measurement of water polluted with nitrate, as mentioned by World Health Organization (WHO). The results have shown a high sensitivity of this sensor in the presence of various concentrations of nitrate.
