Arsenic is one of the carcinogens with a low permissible level in water. One of the methods to detect this substance is Raman spectroscopy. Due to the weak Raman spectrum of this material, in this paper, by using reduced silver nanoparticles, produced by a simple and cost-effective method, a substrate for Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) have been fabricated for quantitative analysis of arsenic. By measuring the intensity of Raman spectrum and applying an appropriate statistical method, calibration curve for arsenic concentration is obtained. The results show the limit of detection of arsenic concentration up to ppb.
