Effective medium theory of a composite of single-walled carbon nanotubes: Quasi-static approximation
Department of Engineering Physics, Kermanshah University of Technology, Kermanshah
Abstract: (1462 Views)
In this paper, Maxwell-Garnett theory for the effective medium approximation of composite materials is developed to obtain the effective dielectric function of a composite of single-walled carbon nanotubes. To do this, a single-walled carbon nanotube is modeled by an infinitesimally thin cylindrical shell of the π and σ electrons and electronic excitations of this shell are described by means of the two-dimensional two-fluid hydrodynamic theory.
