Abstract: (1731 Views)
One of the most important issues in the design of optical resonators is the quality factor. In this paper, a plasmonic filter based on metal-dielectric-metal structure is designed and numerically analysed by finite difference time domain method. This structure consists of a split ring resonator coupled by input and output waveguides. The use of plasmonic structure revealed decreases of scattering and further light confinement. The performance of this structure in the term of light confinement at the subwavelength range is good. Also the resonance amplitude and wavelength can be adjusted by changing the split angle and geometrical parameters. This structure has a quality factor of 28.19 at the wavelength of 1550 nm.
