Nd3+ doped glasses with chemical composition of 48.5P2O5-30CaCl2-20NaCl-1.5Nd2O3 were prepared by furnace melt method. Glass-ceramic samples, containing Ca (PO3)2 nano crystals with mean size 60 nm prepared from precursor samples. Absorption spectrum of Nd+3 doped samples were taken in the wavelength region 200-1000 nm at room temperature. The experimental oscillator strengths were determined from the areas under the absorption bands. Intensity parameters Ωt (t=2, 4, 6) were calculated by refractive index and Judd-Ofelt theory. Intensity parameters for Nd3+ doped glass and glass-ceramic were analyzed and investigated
