A Method for designing high power thin-disk laser resonator for appropriate beam coupling into fiber

In high power thin-disk lasers, the changes in pump power cause variation of radius of curvature of thin-disk and therefore output beam characteristics such as beam diameter and beam quality. These variations are very destructive when coupling the laser beam into a fiber and also make the coupling process and exact calculations very difficult and sophisticated. In this article a method for designing the resonator is presented which reduces the variation of output beam specification and simplifies the coupling process. Also the main problem of coupling calculation is to evaluate the least achievable focused beam diameter which is vital to choose the optimum core diameter for fiber. This parameter is extracted for introduced resonator and presented.
