Abstract: (6283 Views)
Second harmonic generation (SHG) can be used to estimate the nonlinear optical waveguide imperfection. In a periodically poled lithium niobate waveguide, if the quasi phasematching function is known this imperfection can be addressed to the inhomogeneity only. In this paper, using a mirror coated in the one end face of the waveguide to reflect both fundamental and SH waves, the inhomogeneity of the waveguide is obtained in a double-pass scheme. This is done without any information about the phase and using only the measured power of the SH wave.
