Pulsed, single transverse mode, high power and polarized wedge YVO4/Nd:YVO4 laser pumped at 888 nm with acousto-optic modulator

In this paper, the results of a high power and high repetition rate laser have been presented. The significant feature of this laser is a composite and wedge Nd:YVO4 crystal as a gain medium. In continuous wave operation, we obtain 19.5 W and 23.4 W laser under 57 W pump power for TEM00 and multimode operation, respectively. Using acousto-optics Q-switching mechanism, 19 W average output power is produced at 200 kHz under 57 W pump power. The beam quality factor is measured to 2.4 and 1.3 for multimode and TEM00 operation, respectively.
