Design of narrow band filter with square and ring resonator photonic bandgap

In this paper, two new structures of narrow band filter based on two-dimensional photonic crystals of silicon rods in air are proposed. The super narrow band filter consists of square and ring resonator and two line-defect-based reflectors. The resonance wavelength for ring resonator is 1.38  and for square resonator is 1.4409 . The super narrow band filter can be integrated into optical circuit. It can be used for wavelength selection and noise filtering of optical amplifier in future communication application. Rsoft software is used to simulate the optical behavior of the filter
