Solar heating and lighting system equipped with 0.10 tracker and novel water circulation system

Employment of natural light of sun in building for lightening is one of the fundamental bases of the building construction. However, owing to some constraints, the direct access to the sun light is impossible. In this paper, a solar daylighting system using a Fresnel lens and plastic optical fibers (POFs) is presented. A novel solution for preventing the POFs from overheating damage without using optical filter, cold or hot mirrors is proposed using a simple water cooling system. In addition, a solar tracker with maximum degree of accuracy of 0.1o is utilized to concentrate the light on the bundle. Using this system, 18 watt heat power is absorbed by water and the maximum efficiency of 2.8% is achieved for light illumination.
