Abstract: (2950 Views)
Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli bacteria have been analyzed by Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy. Twenty-two atomic and ionic emission lines in the LIBS spectrum, which was dominated by inorganic elements such as calcium, magnesium and sodium, were used to identify and classify the bacteria of Gram positive and negative. A discriminant function analysis was used to discriminate between Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli. Our results show well discrimination .so, it shows the ability of LIBS in classification of bacteria and it feasibility in medical applications.
Keywords: Discriminant function analysis, Bacteria identification, Laser-induced break down spectroscopy
