Abstract: (6110 Views)
In this paper, the optical force acting upon Rayleigh dielectric particles produced by evanescent wave of two totally internally reflected interfering beams is investigated. Both gradient and scattering forces are calculated and the stability conditions for effective trapping of particles are analyzed. Results show that evanescent wave due to interference of two laser beams can be used to trap Rayleigh particles along a column parallel to the interface.
