Abstract- Cupric oxide nanowires were prepared by thermal oxidation method on Cu-foil substrate two annealing manners, continuous and steps (C456 and S456), in the temperature range of 400-600 ○C in the air atmosphere. We found that nanowires are vertically grown on Cu-foil. Among these samples C456 has the optimum optical conditions (lower reflectance and smaller band gap). In this sample the diameter of nanowires is about 100 nm and their length distribution between 2-6.5 µm. The photoconductivity effect was investigated in these samples using a red LED. It was found that C456 has a higher sensitivity compared to S456.
