In this paper, we introduce Hilbert phase microscopy (HPM) for measuring quantitative phase images associated with optically transparent objects. Because of its singleshot nature, HPM is suitable for investigating rapid phenomena that take place in transparent structures such as biological cells and optical fibers. The capability of this technique for investigation of optical fibers is demonstrated with measurements of a single mode fiber. In this experiment, the interference pattern was recorded using a diffraction phase microscope and the phase difference between fiber and its medium was extracted using Hilbert transform method and by using phase information the core diameter and refractive index profile of this fiber was obtained.
