In this paper, first, a definition of chirped and un-chirped pulse is introduced. After that, the interaction of quadratically chirped laser pulse with electron is investigated in vacuum. The variation of electron gained energy as a function of electron motion direction is examined for two cases positive and negative chirp and the results is compared with linear chirp one. It is concluded that a positive quadratically chirped is more effective in electron laser acceleration. It can then be concluded that the slow variation of positive quadratically chirped laser electric field in comparison to negative one, is responsible for the higher energy gain.
