Abstract:   (3190 Views)

Gyroscopes as an accurate devices are able to measure angular velocity and rotation rate. Fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) based on Sagnac effect has some advantagessuchasno moving part, linearity, wide dynamic range, high accuracy and high sensitivity. In this project, experimental set up of FOG and analyzing the data were reported. In this set upa passive homodyne demodulation techniquebased on 3×3 coupler was used to detect the phase change and calculating the rotation rate. The results show that the dynamic range of FOG is limited to 4.5 degree/s, the sensitivity and bias stability of FOG are 90 mv/degree/s, 62 degree/h , respectively.
