Dr. Mohammadhossein Salimi is a former member of the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada. He earned his Ph.D. from York University in Canada, in collaboration with Harvard Medical School in the United States, specializing in biomedical optics. Dr. Salimi's doctoral research focused on overcoming a significant limitation in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), a high-impact medical imaging technology. His work aimed to enable OCT to reliably capture images that reveal both the structure and chemistry of biological tissues.
push the boundaries of biomedical engineering. He is particularly skilled in Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) imaging and OCT systems. His research has resulted in distinguished publications in high-impact biomedical journals and presentations at renowned conferences worldwide.
In this talk for the Optics and Photonics Society of Iran, Dr. Salimi will present recent advancements in SWIR techniques and discuss the potential of these innovations to address fundamental challenges in the field of biomedical.
