Abstract: (2924 Views)
An experimental method for measurement of signal to noise ratio (SNR) in Lidar application has been reported. The background, dark current and thermal noises have been calculated from the signal tail. The shot noise of the signal is calculated from the multiplication of signal voltage to noise scale factor. The noise scale factor is estimated from the linear relation between variance and mean of the background noise. The SNR of 150 and 1500 temporal averaged signals is equaled to10 at a height of 4 and 6 km respectively.
