In this paper, the performance of a polarizer on the stability and the dynamics of the output intensity of a semiconductor laser has studied. The time series of output intensity are plotted by using laser rate equations. The obtained results show that in the presence of the polarizer, the output amplitude and dynamics of the TE mode may be affected by the generated TM beam in the external cavity. Furthermore, in the some cases it can provide new conditions to perform the TE and TM modes operate simultaneously. It also displays that the time variation of the output intensity of the TE mode and TM mode depend on the small variation of parameters such as time delay of round trip time in external cavity and injection rate of the TM mode.
