Effect of CeO2 doping on the optical properties B2O3-PbO glasses

Abstract- In this work pure and doped B2O3-PbO glasses is produced by the melt-quench technique. Different concentration of Ceo2 is done for optimizing the optical characteristics. Optical analyses of glasses are carried out by UV-Visible spectroscopic measurement techniques. Our results show that by this method the band gap energy is decreased significantly. This decrease shows semiconductor behavior. Also increasing in Ceo2 concentration cause to compaction and decrease in the width of band tail.
