Isotropic and anisotropic environment effect on absorption spectra of Coumarin 504

Absorption spectra of Coumarin 504 have been recorded in isotropic and anisotropic solvents. The maximum absorption wavelength of a dissolved dye depends on the solute –solvent interactions and solvent nature and can be used to describe interactions between solvent and solute molecules.
