Study on effects of self and cross saturation coefficients on time variation of modes of the two modes vertical cavity semiconductor laser

In this paper, we have studied the time variation of number of output photons of a two-mode vertical cavity semiconductor laser. The results showed that the time variation of number of output photons of the modes are depended on small variation of pumping current and ratio between cross saturation and self saturation of each mode. It has also shown that if the cross and self saturation are equal, the laser will be unstable. Moreover, variation in pumping current value is caused to variation in types of output dynamics of laser.
