Depth profiling of coated metal plating using of laser- induced break down spectroscopy

In this work a new method for online analysis of the characterization of interfaces in layered materials based on laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is presented. To achieve an ablation depth in the range of the coating thickness of about a Nd:YAG laser at was used. The depth information is determined with high precision by adjusting the Laser’s burst energy.
