Electrochromic windows with tungsten oxide thin film design and fabrication

Abstract- In this study, electrochromic windows with tungsten oxide thin film was designed and fabricated, which consist of an electrochromic layer (WO3) on a transparent conductor (ITO), electrolyte containing Li+ cations and the catalyst on the second transparent conductor and its structure is Glass/ ITO/ WO3/ electrolyte/ Pt/ ITO/ Glass. When a negative voltage of 2V was applied on fabricated sample, transmittance especially for visible wavelength range decreases from 60% to 34% and for a wavelength of 680nm transmittance is maximum value.
